Since 2005, the Ontario squash community comes together every two years for a celebration – a celebration to honour individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the game of squash.
On Thursday, April 4th, at the Granite Club in Toronto, 3 extraordinary people were inducted into the Ontario Squash Hall of Fame.
Clive Caldwell will be inducted as a Player/Builder. Clive won 35 professional titles in his playing career. As President and CEO of the Cambridge Group of Clubs, he continued to grow squash across Canada.
He founded Urban Squash Toronto, a charitable program combining athletics and education supporting under-served youth.
Peter Frost will be inducted as a Builder. Peter’s lifetime involvement in and commitment to squash spans contributions at the regional, provincial, national and international levels.
He was president of both Squash Ontario and Squash Canada and laid the groundwork for the successful relationship between the Canadian and US Squash Associations which continues to this day.
Vincent Taylor will be inducted as a Player/Builder. Vinnie helped develop and grow squash in Canada, serving on local, Provincial and National committees as a major advocate of junior and masters squash.
As a player, he won two Atlantic Provinces Championships, as well as nine Ontario, four Canadian, two US, one Scottish and one New Zealand Masters Championships.
