The Ontario Squash Hall of Fame Board of Governors, Anne Smith (chair), Robert Brooks, Sherry Funston, Penny Glover, Peter Hall and Tony Swift, announced the newest members of the Ontario Squash Hall of Fame.

Robert Brooks will be inducted as a builder. There is perhaps no name more synonymous with the growth of and support for squash than Rob. He has over the past 30 years dedicated himself to serving as a beacon to and mentor to literally hundreds and hundreds of players, both recreational and high performance.  To play honourably and to win or lose with dignity are the hallmarks of Rob Brooks’ life philosophy.

Victor Harding, will be inducted as a player.  He has an impressive playing record of 25 Canadian Doubles Championships; one Canadian Singles Championship; 7 US Doubles Championships; 5 World titles; and 24 Ontario Doubles and 3 Ontario Singles Titles. He was a member of the Canadian team which attended the 1976 world championships in New Zealand.   Victor did not limit his skills to the squash court; he helped found the Canadian Doubles Committee and was a member for a number of years and he was a co-founder of the Patrons’ Endowment Fund, a fund raising arm of Squash Canada.

Jim Kenward, will be inducted as a builder.  The Ontario Squash Hall of Fame has two specific missions – one is to honour those individuals who have made an enormous contribution to the game of squash in Ontario – and one is to preserve the history of the game. Jim has been an unofficial archivist for the game, searching and compiling important historical information, safeguarding them for generations to come.

The induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 30th at the Toronto Cricket, Skating & Curling Club, 141 Wilson Avenue, Toronto, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception.

Space is limited to the first 150 people.  Ticket information and purchase will be available  on February 3rd on the Squash Ontario website {squashontario.com} or on the Ontario Squash Hall of Fame website {http://ontariosquashhalloffame.com}.
